the game is not a separate functional unit
the cartridge was saved and so part of the game is downloaded from the Nintendo eshop, so when Nintendo decides to block you or close the eshop completely (like they did with Wii, Wii U, 3DS, 2DS), the cartridge is thrown away = no point in buying a physical copy of the game
so you can't legally buy the game, the physical copy is non-functional and the digital copy is only a rental, you can't sell it, donate it or even back it up when Nintendo decides to shut down the store, like they already did with the older consoles that were sold 3 years ago
don't be stupid and support this thievery of renting digital games or selling incomplete physical copies
