The perfect solution for more demanding domestic needs when you also have optical gigabit internet at home with faster uploads.
Security cameras (Synology Surveillance Station), EMBY (multimedia server a la Plex = home “NetFlix“), Synology Photos (a local alternative to Google Photos with the option to share on your own domain, e. g. subdomain. domain_2order. tld), Docker (virtualization), etc.
It doesn' t say if it can handle more than 16TB hard drives. So far, I have 3x16TB HDDs (listed in Synology' s list of compatible drives) in RAID-5. In the list of compatible disks, they have the highest single disk capacity of 16TB.
