Under Windows 8.1 / 64 (AMD A8-6410) it works reliably with the included software “Honestech VHS to DVD“. However, I did not install the driver from the included CD, but I allowed Windows to download and install the appropriate driver myself. At the end of the “VHS to DVD“ software installation, it is important to run the upgrade. exe, otherwise it asks for a CD-key that is not included!
The picture quality is not the best using the supplied software “VHS to DVD“. I achieved a much better quality with the program “NCH VideoPad“, but there was a recording without sound and despite a long search for information on the Internet, I did not manage to solve this problem. A partial solution is to connect the audio output of the VCR directly to the input of the sound card, but this way only the image without sound is displayed during video capture, which is quite inconvenient.
VirtualDub has reliably and repeatedly, in both 32- and 64-bit versions, caused me to crash Windows (BSOD).
I also tried PowerDirector (ver.12), but to no avail, the program did not recognize this videograbber at all.

It works as I imagined. If you have a PowerDirector from Cyberlink, this software works without any problems and it is not necessary to install the supplied software (except for the driver, of course).
Basically, I recommend it to anyone who wants to record old VHS tapes.
