Although the device is intended as a portable travel device, I use it as a permanent router in my apartment. The signal is sufficient everywhere (I use Netflix or O2tv on TV exclusively wireless), although it has no external antenna. I like the miniature size, so it is hidden in a small cabinet. It is easy to connect an external drive via USB.
