After about 2 or more hours of operation, the drive starts to overheat, while other drives of the same format and capacity (Seagate/LaCie, 2.5" e.g. ) are able to consistently maintain themselves at a lower temperature. USB-C to USB-A adapter included. However, this reducer has small plastic beads on the sides that cause the USB-C cable connection to the reducer to only plug in one way. These plastic beads serve no apparent purpose. The new variant of the drives (from early 2023) has only 4800 RPM instead of the standard (and expected) 5400 RPM. This causes a drop in read/write speed from the previous approx. 120 MB/s to the current 110-112 MB/s. This may not seem like a big difference at first glance, but when moving larger amounts of data (2TB or more) it becomes noticeable.
