Personally, I consider the WD Black SN770 to be a decent basic fast Gen4 model from WD, although personally I would probably always reach for the SN850 with its DRAM cache, because the 300 crowns of difference is not much. But I just understand why WD wants to have a model like the SN770 in the lineup. The competition simply has them too. What I can say is that functionally in normal practice on a regular PC the lack of DDR4 cache surprisingly does not matter, at least for regular less demanding users. With this generation, this is handled very well and most of the time in normal use of a system SSD in a regular PC, the drive achieves very good and stable performance.

I bought it as a NAS drive to run the docker on and so far so good. To my surprise, it even heats less than the WD Red, which is made for NAS. So if I were buying again, I would probably choose these Blacks for both positions, rather than the Red

The drive worked great for 14 days, then the computer started to go dead, giving a blue death and refusing to turn on. Moving it to another pc as a data drive turned out the same way. First it worked and within a week the same result. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WD to anyone (this is the second drive that has gone this way)!
