I think it's great for a child or adult (just fix them properly on the finger with a flexible patch) who has a problem with breathing (with saturation - e.g. nocturnal apnoea) and possibly with heart rate. It has adjustable values for alarm, the possibility of turning off the alarm for 120 seconds and, most importantly, recording. Definitely a more valuable product for the money than the so-called. "Breath monitors", which I think meaningfully adds monitoring of real life functions.
It continuously measures oxygen saturation and heart rate - i.e. vital signs, unlike "breath monitors", which only primitively track time without shocks (without movement) - i.e. unusable in a stroller, in a car, when even when dead they will report that everything is fine, and when at night, on the contrary, they start to alarm after lifting the child from the crib. "Breath monitors" do not have a clearly confirmed preventive effect on newborn deaths, even though they pretend to! I think a combination with them is good though for a greater sense of security.
Saturation and heart rate are recorded in the memory of the device and can be viewed retrospectively or (reportedly 4 measurements, each after 10h of recording) or later downloaded to a computer and viewed and saved, e.g. in PDF .
The station is not necessary, but it allows you to conveniently monitor e.g. at night, when you don't want to have your mobile on and deal with rather unpredictable battery savers and putting apps to sleep on your mobile, etc.
It's incredibly light, about 23g on the foot and it lasts overnight (the manufacturer states 16h), fitted with some fabric straps to attach it. Thanks to its lightness and mobility, it can also be used for monitoring when travelling in a stroller, in a car, either standing or on a mobile phone.
It is easy to set at what low saturation (e.g. below 88%) the alarm sounds, as well as the upper and lower limits of the heart rate. When exceeded, an alarm sounds very quickly, and these exceeded values are highlighted when viewed.
The signal loss alarm (sensor release from the foot) is reported after about 85 seconds (if the preset interval is reduced from 5 min to 30 s). The signal loss will appear earlier (e.g. after 20-50s and until then it shows the last measurement), but the alarm is triggered after the set time (30s - 5 min), not before. Fortunately, the alarm when the frequency changes above/below the set limit is displayed with a small latency (within a few seconds).
with more movement (baby screaming), the saturation and heart rate stop measuring and an alarm starts to sound. (this can be either turned off for 120s or turned down completely) and after calming down, adjust the volume with one button on the station. At the time of screaming and movement, the baby is obviously alive: -) Clamping on the foot is not always the easiest and most stable with the included fabric straps. I recommend to use a flexible textile tape to attach the sensor, e.g. Idealast (as they did in the neonatal unit at the profi machine).
Bluetooth 4.0 has a fairly short range, only to the next room. (fortunately, when the connection is interrupted, there is an alarm immediately). In addition, bloothth must not be paired by default in android, only in the application. The instructions do not tell you how to initially pair the station (after asking - Hold both buttons and then confirm with the alarm button). The cable from the sensor to the device and to the USB connection for power or pairing has a non-standard connector on the other side. It's pretty illogical the tent is on USB-C.
It is a pity that the app does not show the saturation curve during successive pulsations, as some oximeters with digital display do), only the values in the graph.
The cable between the sensor and the device is a bit impractical, when the child is angry and kicking, the cable can move the sensor.
If I tried correctly, you can only directly monitor the functions in 1 mobile app + in the station. That's why I recommend buying a tower with a station. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge a discharged machine. You don't have a chance to monitor at that time.
I didn't really understand the point of motion tracking, it usually records so much motion when other measurements are interrupted anyway and it reports a signal loss alarm.
