We bought the washing machine in July 2021 and are basically very happy with it:
It washes beautifully, quickly, handles well, the display is clear enough and the functions are easy to learn by heart. You can fit quite a lot of stuff in it.
What annoys me is that when I wash small items like baby panties or socks, there is almost always one or two of these items left in the rubber seal at the bottom of the door. If one doesn't keep an eye on it, after washing these things are down unwashed and full of water. Thus, they need to be washed again or by hand. Sometimes you can watch it, pause the washing machine and throw the thing back in the drum, but you don't want to sit by the washing machine all the time or go to check it regularly. That's not good in 2022.
The bottom part of the detergent and fabric softener dispenser (I mean the runners, not the inside of the dispenser) is always clogged after some time and has to be cleaned. The tray probably can't be removed without complicated assembly, so just hand sponge or wet rag, otherwise it will build up. I don't know how they've got it figured out, but this isn't ideal either.
I miss the program where I can set exactly what I need: the temperature, speed and, most importantly, the washing time. When I want to wash things that need to be washed at 60c, it's always the white programme which is for 2 hours and 30 minutes. In my opinion, unnecessary in some cases.
On the other hand, it's a 7k washing machine and I probably shouldn't complain about the stupidity - I'm used to programming everything.
So I am satisfied with the washing machine.
10 year engine warranty:
Careful, this is fun too.
1) Registering on whirpool.cz is a bit confusing and it's easy to get the wrong registration type. I did put a paid extended warranty registration, which is not the case here, and the registration ends in an error. Therefore, only the registration of the appliance needs to be selected.
2) I did this by calling the phone number 840. which is for the Czech Republic and can be found on the leaflet. Vodafone immediately told me that it was a special rate number (about the same as when you call somewhere to "call my club". ) and the number will tell you that this number is no longer used and that you should use another number (251001001). On that other number, which they tell you nicely, you'll listen to talk about call recording and GDPR for a minute and then you can click through to product registration.
There, unfortunately, I was picked up by a gentleman who stood up with his left foot, so the pleasantness went by the wayside. The label on the back dictated all the necessary codes and finally the gentleman did the registration for me. Although it was obvious that he would prefer if I hadn't called but we reached our destination.
This is just to my experience with whirpool product registration.
Oh, and lest I forget, an inverter motor warranty is really just an inverter motor warranty. You will pay for the trip and the work of the technician (I was told by the operator on the whirpool line). So I wouldn't take the 10 year engine warranty as such a win.
