Great microwave, after 12years our previous old Whirlpool left and we wanted one with crisp again - luxury features. So we bought this one, it is smaller, but it is quite sufficient for our use. The beep volume is normal, the control is intuitive, for me I have nothing to complain about. If the timer runs out, the microwave "hums" on, I assumed only the fan, I checked with Whirlpool to be sure and yes, only the fan hums, so there is no risk of overheating the food unless you turn the oven off immediately (answer below).
