Cat loves running water. I put clean bottled water. It has filters against dust and dirt. Advanced users can set up timers, have it turn on / off run every 10 mins, has proximity sensor to turn on on the phone app. But i just have it running 24/7. REMEMBER TO CLEAN IT REGULARY, LIKE EVERY WEEK AND CONNECT IT TO XIAOMI HOME APP, OR IT WILL GLITCH WITH TIME
