We didn't use zazu much, my son preferred singing, but as he was falling asleep we turned on white noise and he dozed off to it, but zazu alone couldn't put him to sleep.

It is triggered by any noise( which is fine when a baby cries at any level, but not so when one just puts down, say, a glass on the bedside table) for people with poor sleep can be a problem.
Velcro for hanging is a bit impractical, but it is not a tragedy, it can be removed and replaced with something else.
