Pre minimalizáciu rotačných síl vznikol systém MIPS, ktorý využíva klznú vložku medzi dvoma vrstvami škrupiny. Pri páde sa potom obe časti škrupiny môžu posunúť proti sebe a minimalizovať tak pôsobenie rotačných síl na mozog.
