USB 4 je najnovšou špecifikáciou USB ponúkajúcou rýchlosť prenosu až 80 Gbit/s. Prináša však aj ďalšie novinky ako napríklad protokolové tunelovanie, vďaka ktorému je možné cez USB kábel so správnym konektorom prenášať aj signál pre DisplayPort alebo PCIe. Pre nabíjačky znamená USB 4 aj vyšší výkon, a teda rýchlejšie nabíjanie.
Konektor USB 4 podporuje obrovské rýchlosti prenosu a rýchlonabíjania s výkonom až 100 W.
Môžete namietnuť, že 100 W a aj výkonnejšie nabíjanie nie je žiadnou novinkou a mali by ste pravdu. Ide však o to, že USB 4 je prvou špecifikáciou, ktorá 100 W rýchlonabíjanie podporuje priamo v rámci štandardu Power Delivery – výrobcovia tak nemusia vyvíjať štandardy vlastné (napr. Xiaomi HyperCharge, Oppo SUPERVOOC, atď.), ale môžu rovno použiť už existujúce Power Delivery.
