Technika jazdy na lyžiach, keď sa jazdec odráža z jednej nohy, zatiaľ čo kĺže po druhej. Na samotný sklz je typická pozícia s nohami do V s roztvorenými špičkami lyží. Korčuľovanie je rýchlejšie, než klasický štýl, ale aj náročnejšie na zdatnosť aj techniku.

Backcountry

Štýl jazdy na bežeckých lyžiach, keď sa vydáte mimo značené a upravené chodníky. Môžete naraziť aj na náročnejší terén, hodia sa preto odolnejšie lyže s oceľovými hranami na zdolávanie ľadu.

Viazanie

Mechanizmus, ktorý spája lyžu s topánkou. Najpoužívanejšie typy sú SNS, NNN a ich modifikácie. Rozdiel je akurát v počte drážok, ktoré vedú topánku od špičky k päte. SNS má jednu širokú koľajnicu, NNN má dve užšie drážky.
