Roller Skate Wheels

Wheel hardness ranges between 74A-100A. Softer wheels (78A-82A) are suitable for beginners. They grip surfaces better, absorbing any bumbs, but are also slower and wear out more rapidly. Harder wheels (82A or more) are suitable for more advanced skaters. They are faster and last longer, but they absorb less vibration, making them more difficult to handle. 

Bearings

The quality of the bearings is indicated using the ABEC scale. This ranges from 1 to 9, where the number 9 represents the best bearing. The better the bearing, the less resistance it has. If you travel more often, we recommend selecting bearings with at least an ABEC 5 rating. Quality bearings should spin quietly and without jolting for a longer period of time than lower quality bearings.

Roller Skate Size

Roller skates follow the same sizing system as US, UK or EU shoes. For EU sizes, it is recommended to choose a half to a whole number greater than the size of your feet. The skate should fit the foot well, without pushing on it. Some children's skates allow you to adjust the size by a few numbers.
