Functional under Windows 11. No setup required. The only problem was with the sound, the sound was uploaded to the PC with the picture, but it was not audible when working while recording video from the player, so a little more searching in the sound settings in windows, so that the sound from this USB card also goes to the speakers when playing from VHS. Win11 isn't very intuitive about it, but it worked in the end. The product does not include any software for video recording. There are links to two programs in the instructions. I used my video editor for editing Filmora videos. It is necessary to be equipped with cables to connect the VHS player. All I had to do was go to the attic, where I had a blessed amount of all sorts of variants from the days when VHS ruled the world. And of course, a VHS player. As they say, don't throw anything away, it may come in handy someday: )

It's hard to judge quality or poor quality, because the VHS videotapes I've tested on so far, which were recorded over 20 years ago, would probably be difficult to watch on today's TVs on their own - development has simply moved on incredibly well in that time. Unfortunately, I have no way to compare what the results would be with a more expensive card and an equally poor quality source - unfortunately, the supply of such devices has been greatly reduced with the demise of analog TV tuners.

The 576i and 288p images record, but when 480i devices are connected, the image is black and white and there are synchronization problems. Furthermore, the image is very lowres and pixelated. Text that can otherwise be read on the TV without problems cannot be read through the card at all.
So if you just need to record a picture from a degraded VHS, that's enough. It's unusable for anything else (see screenshots of the recording card output)

I had to buy a CINCH extension cable to be able to connect the video. Videos usually have the same output as the product.
