Returned, the batteries in the charger were overcharged, after charging the next day showed 30-40 percent capacity.
A fully charged battery showed 70-80 percent after reinsertion into the charger, the charging process continued for another 30 minuit with the same result. The batteries were new GP NiHM. I went back to the old standby.

There is no indication of how long the battery has been charging, but that's a detail
I would welcome an audible signal when charged to 100%
