After two years with this product I can say that it is a piece of crap, the weak pump has been replaced several times so now the serviceman doesn't come every two months to repair it. It is of course a washing machine with a "drying function" so you can't expect as good drying as in a conventional dryer but the clothes are really wet when you take them out. It is practically unusable for a household of 5 or more people, it takes an inordinate amount of time to dry several t-shirts. I'm basically waiting for something to break in her again and go away. she'll definitely go away even if she doesn't break.

The first two or three drying cycles will have a peculiar smell, such as burning plastic or the cheapest Chinese toys. After that, the smell is no longer (or minimally) noticeable
Maybe you need to do some special washing and drying program before putting the washing machine into operation, we only washed once with an empty drum and we had that smell.
In general we are very happy with the machine, it works great.
The machine works great, is quiet when washing and drying, does not overheat and washes and dries very well.
The piano black plastic on the top of the machine attracts dust like a magnet.
