Litecoin Foundation, nadácia usilujúca o rozvoj šiestej najcennejšej kryptomeny Litecoin, dňa 10. 7. oznámila, že vykonala akvizíciu desetinového podielu v nemeckej banke WEG Bank AG. Nadácia tak urobila v spolupráci s projektom TokenPay, s ktorým uzavrela nové strategické partnerstvo.

Riaditeľ Litecoin Foundation Xinxu Wang novinku komentoval nasledovne:

„Skúšali sme otvoriť bankový účet pre Litecoin Foundation, ale neúspešne. Tak sme si banku jednoducho kúpili. Čo nás nezabije, to nás posilní.“

Litecoin Foundation má údajne opciu na nákup ďalších podielov, až do výšky 80 % vlastníctva banky WEG Bank AG.
