I needed a desktop dac / amp to which I would connect an active speaker and at the same time have a decent headphone output. The Fiio K5 Pro seemed like an ideal candidate. However, a few minutes after plugging in, installing some drivers, there was quite a lot of disappointment. The device does not allow the user to select an output. This means that if you have an active speaker in the RCA and you plug headphones into the jack, it will always play both and it can' t be changed in any way, there is no way to choose where the sound will go. Even in their application, the output cannot be selected after connection via USB.
I really didn' t hope that I would have to deal with something as basic as output prioritization at the dac / amp for my brother of CZK 6,000, when my box from Aliexpress for CZK 1,800 can do it without blinking an eye.
And the volume wheel is also terrible, at first it doesn' t work at all, it doesn' t let go of the sound and suddenly it jumps and everything is terribly loud and you can hear a significant imbalance in the left-right channel.
Returned the day I received the shipment.
