Whatever its shortcomings there is only one comparable competitor in this price range and that is the camera from ihpon. I've tried every possible spoof camera. They are cheaper but nowhere near the goPRO Hero.

Gauges - GPS, tachometer, barometer

FOV. If you want a smaller angle of view, you're actually slicing the original image from 170 degrees. So if you put a mode without fisheye and with a smaller angle of view plus stabilization, you have a resolution almost 2x smaller - not really 4K anymore: ( This is not mentioned anywhere either. It's a bullshit. But it's just a sports camera. There are things like the fisheye wide focal point desired.
