Recommendation, but mostly for those who have original Leatherman bits. By the fact that the original bits are double-sided and therefore the longer is the setter, or the part where the bits are inserted is also deeper. You can use normal bits, but there is a danger of what happened to me, that your normal (short) bit goes so deep that it couldn't be removed normally and I had to take it out with pliers. So for normal bits- probably not.
