For me an absolute sweetspot.

The last watch in that sense I bought a Seico in Las Vegas sometime in 2006 or 2007, unfortunately the date went out sometime in 2012. I've been looking for a replacement ever since. I knew exactly what I wanted. I'm no chronomaniac, I need a functional adequate looking thing to tell the time. I've experimented with smartwatches as well, but it doesn't work for me as a concept. I was looking for a "pilot" watch with big numerals, no nonsensical bloated design, reasonable size, ideally a date outside the numerals, a metal strap, a quartz movement that is accurate and maintenance free, and I didn't want to pay a kidney for it.

And then these gems caught my eye. They meet absolutely everything and the impression of quality exceeds their market price many times over. In points:

The brand belongs to Prim, the movement says it's Japanese. So probably no China, that's another pretty big plus.

I couldn't pull the crown to the "other" position to set the date, I finished it just by moving the hands forward. (Beware, do not backwards and do not set the date between 21-3 o'clock, read the instructions, it may damage the movement. )

The "luminous" hands practically do not glow, only when illuminated with a UV flashlight (or strong light) they do for a while. So maybe when going from sun to dark it will work.
