The book falls into the 'Progression Fantasy' category and stays true to the conventions of its genre. At the start, we have a hero in a completely hopeless situation, from which he naturally finds a way out, improving both himself and his financial situation. It must be said that he is helped not only by his quick wits, but also by a stroke of luck. Towards the end of the book, a new challenge presents itself to him. The cover doesn’t do the book justice; it’s actually an action-packed story that’s a real page-turner. But in the end, there will be plenty of unanswered questions left for the next instalment. That’s why I’m only giving it 4 stars. After all, it is only the first of ten planned volumes, of which the author has completed nine. The first three have been translated into Czech.
