The price/performance ratio is top on the market
In this basic version, for 14k, the user receives a display, all-metal, keyboard, touchpad, usb-c charging, etc. same quality as ntb with higher cpu/gpu which are included for 20-40k
So a 16" display in a 16:10 ratio is something - I bought the ntb because of frequent trips abroad, where at the hotel, coding on my IdeaPad 5 14" 16:9 was always desperate, now I finally feel like I' m working on a desktop, which was the purpose of the purchase and it is priceless
The keyboard and its illumination is great and looks very premium
Overall, the laptop and its equipment for the price of 14k absolutely great! NTB looks very premium (emphasis on looks, see negatives). This is my first 16" ntb and so it feels like a desktop - great wow ntb feel!
I read the threads on reddit before buying so everything that users complain about I was prepared ie. seq.
the touchpad is very good at work, accurate and the perfect size, but its processing is really surprising - it rattles when you just tap (not click) - I solved this as many recommend on reddit: open the ntb and stick the touchpad and suddenly it is as it should be from the factory - it is good to know this, because the current Lenovo production has this problem across the ntb even in the value of 50k. So I warn you that the first double-tap or clicking of the buttons gives a very bad impression, almost like an ntb for 5 thousand. from 2010. so don' t be fooled and the solution is trivial.
compared to my Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14" from 2019, also all-aluminum, I don' t quite feel that the 2024 factory processing is better, on the contrary - the mentioned touchpad is heaven and earth, the aluminum processing seems to me to be much better on the ntb 2019 (subjective) and furthermore, the field of view and the backlighting of the display are not exactly great, see seq. point
the display pleased me and did not please me at the same time - it is large, easy to read and just bright, which is great for work, coding or browsing, but in the dark with a dark screen or watching a video, you can see a brighter backlight on the edges (especially around the right edge), i. e. black is less black than the rest of the display, which is usually a problem with really cheap ntbs. -some maps of different shades of black. So I addressed this and bought the ntb 2x to verify that it is the current Lenovo production standard (the ntb purchased is from the 2024/02/28 production edition) and not a random defective piece. Unfortunately, the second ntb, which I immediately returned, is completely the same in all the mentioned shortcomings. again compared to my ideapad 5 from 2019 it is much worse in this display. After all, all my ntbs, apart from this new one, are completely black. however for the price of 14k, 16:10 and 16" I finally accepted. However, if it was a ntb for 20k or more, I would return it. last but not least, the viewing angles are not the best, but again for my purpose of coding at the hotel quite ok.
So to sum it up, if you' re prepared for the aforementioned shortcomings and are looking for a great looking, powerful, thin, portable usb-c powered " desktop" then for 14k there' s no better choice at the moment

I haven' t had it for a week, so no great experience yet. NTB works and looks great.
I was surprised by the quality of the design of the IdeaPad 5 Slim, I have experience with the IdeaPad 5 (also all-metal) with Ryzen 3 5300u and the design is worse. This feels like an upper class ntb.
The version without OS is about 7 thousand cheaper. Installing the OS is not a problem, tested Win 11 Pro, completely compatible, someone stated that it is not compatible with Win 11, I can refute this based on my own experience. 🙂
Powerful processor I5 12450H.
16GB fast LDDR5 memory 4800mhz.
Fast operation, ntb with win11pro loaded in about 4-5 seconds.
Movable webcam cover.
Backlit keyboard.
Design.
USB charging.
I personally miss the fingerprint reader.
The ram is powered on board so future memory upgrades can' t be done but I think 16gb is quite sufficient today.
High price of version with pre-installed OS.
The i5 12450H is a bit of a glutton. 35-95w boost.
