Oblíbený rozsah teleobjektivu, vhodný jak pro full-frame, tak i pro APS-C digitální zrcadlovky Canon. Vzhledem k ceně až překvapivá kvalita po všech stránkách, objektiv má velmi slušnou kresbu a navíc je vybaven velmi rychlým, přesným a tichým ostřícím motorem, vhodným i pro natáčení videa. Nechybí ani u teleobjektivu velmi podstatná optická stabilizace. Kovový bajonet a kompaktní, lehké provedení. Zajímavostí je malý LCD displej, zobrazující expoziční údaje.
Nevýhodou je především absence sluneční clony v základním balení a při jejím dokoupení je až nesmyslně vysoká cena.
