Simply plug it into the mains and set it up via a smartphone app. The camera can be installed to a desired location with the best view with the help of a stand. This makes it possible to place it for instance on furniture. The stand can also be used to mount the camera on a wall. Use the built-in magnet to attach it to metal surface. It even features a standard tripod mount which opens up possibilities of mounting the camera to tripods or various universal holders.

Nest App Notifications When Something Happens

There is no need to keep constantly checking the camera-covered area with your own eyes. Nest Cam reacts to motion and suspicious noises such as breaking windows or attempts to circumvent the doors. The moment this happens you receive a special notification to your phone or an e-mail with the image of the event. Photos can be viewed retrospectively to up to three hours in the Nest app.

Nest Aware is a paid cloud service which grants access to advanced features of the camera. With the paid Nest Aware service, the advanced cloud algorithms distinguish important activities in the designated area from a false alarm. When the camera sees features of a person or his or her face it sends a special notification. The paid cloud service also stores entire recordings for few days. Along with a fast Sightline overview a past event previously considered as harmless can be traced retrospectively.
