Israel. The Jewish State in a disintegrating world
The Evolution of Israeli Society and Politics
The State of Israel is often portrayed as the sole democracy and a bastion of Western civilisation in the turbulent Middle East. Although it is a relatively small country, it repeatedly appears in the global media as a neuralgic point in international politics. Following the terrorist attacks by the Palestinian Hamas on 7 October 2023 and Israel's military response, the Middle Eastern region has once again shown itself to be a focal point for the clash of different civilisations, imperial aspirations, and geopolitical shifts.
The situation of the Jewish State is rapidly changing in these times of a fracturing world, and some problems are accelerating. However, these cannot be understood without historical context and knowledge of the events of the last decade and our present day. In this book, the reader will find texts that interpret the evolution of Israeli society and politics, as well as Israel's interaction with Europe, particularly with the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic, and also with the USA, Turkey, Russia, China, and Latin America.
