Fairy Tale

The King of Horror read a lot of scary fairy tales - and eventually wrote his own...

Seventeen-year-old Charlie Reade may look like a carefree heartbreaker with a gym pass, but life hasn't exactly been kind to him. In his childhood he had already cried for his beloved mother and then was forced to take care of his father, who was possessed by the demon of alcohol. Yet the boy managed to keep goodness in his heart, and one day he offered to help a stranger whose neglected house haunted the dreams of all the children in the neighbourhood. With Mr. Bowditch - owner of a wonderful dog lady named Radar - Charlie is soon united by an unexpected friendship and later by a big, carefully guarded secret. In the shed of the renowned misanthrope there is an entrance to another world! However, the inhabitants of the realm called Empis have long suffered under the dreadful rule of the Killer Wings and his night soldiers. Can a brave but inexperienced young man save both worlds from the encroaching darkness? And will he himself be spared from its corrupting influence?

To tell a story of human courage and canine loyalty, Stephen King has created a brand new fantasy world.
