House of the Dead

Journey to the House of the Dead

In the holy desert of Rarak, the Oracle Sha'ik gathers an army of followers of the Book of the Apocalypse. He intends to unleash the Tempest and lead an uprising that will drag the Malazi Empire into one of the bloodiest conflicts it has ever known. A terrible whirlwind of religious fanaticism and bloodlust soon sweeps away entire cities and gives rise to legends.

Bridge burners are destroyed and their remnants outlawed. Sumar and Assassin Kalam intend to strike back with interest and are stubbornly working their way towards their mythical goal: to the mysterious House of the Dead. But in the midst of a murderous war, nothing goes according to plan - especially when the Shadow God himself, the unpredictable Shadowman, is pulling the strings from afar.

Meanwhile, Coltain, the charismatic commander of the Malazi Seventh Army, leads his troops into a final battle to save the lives of thirty thousand refugees. His Dog Chain struggles against the desert, the superiority of his enemies and the intrigues of his own ranks. How far is it possible to go in pursuit of the impossible? At the end of a journey of blood and tears awaits the port city of Aren, but does it promise salvation or destruction? The Holy Desert is slowly giving up its secrets.

Many paths lead from the House of the Dead, but only one leads to it. Those who follow it will never be the same again.
