Joy Fielding
Canadian JOY FIELDING (* 1945) wrote her first short story at the age of eight and tried to send it to a Toronto magazine. However, she was rebuffed, just as she was with the TV script she tried her luck with four years later. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in English Literature, she pursued acting for a while, working in several Canadian theatre venues and on television. Joy Fielding is one of the most popular writers of our time, with over two dozen novels to her credit. Her domain is mainly psychothrillers with strong female protagonists, caught in a moment of life crisis, which immediately after their publication hit the top of the bestseller lists and have been translated into nearly three dozen languages.
