King of Spades

The next case of Commissioner Ledecky and his colleagues from the Homicide Department begins with the discovery of a dead man of Asian origin in a dry canal bed on the outskirts of Bratislava. Based on the several gunshot wounds, no one disputes that this was a violent death caused by a stranger. From the testimony of a single witness and the tyre prints, it can be concluded that the victim was brought to the place of discovery in a dark car of an unspecified make. Identity unknown. Someone tried to save the victim from death. A forensic examination reveals that drugs played a role in the case. Can a group of detectives find the killer even with such scant information? Will they be able to establish the identity of the dead man? Was meth the reason for his death? The detectives patiently search for clues, but the tight-knit Asian community is unwilling to cooperate. Also thanks to the new crew in the department, they are gradually getting to the victim's name. Their problems are far from over. Even my colleagues at the drug control room are at a loss for words. Do they really have no information or are they also connected to one of the drug groups? In the tense atmosphere of a difficult search, one of the investigators, Machrák, is looking for a way to his teenage daughter. One sleepless night succeeds another. Fatigue is beginning to set in. Only another death will bring the full truth of the case.
