Even princesses long for love. A historical story set in the early 14th century, in which Václav II. recalls his joyless childhood in Bezděz and his youngest daughter Markéta experiences her first love enchantments. In this historical romance set in 1300, the fate of the little-known Bohemian princess Margaret of Přemyslov and her father, King Wenceslas II, is intertwined. Václav arrives at a farm in Radlice, where he meets his nanny Eliška, and decides to leave his four-year-old daughter to be raised there. What a difference for her between the environment of a royal court and a farmhouse! While the head of the ruling family looks back into the past and reminisces with Eliška about his joyless childhood spent as a prisoner at Bezděz, the author's attention gradually shifts to the young Margaret and her emotional enchantment and first love. Will her desire for a prince on a white horse be fulfilled by a relationship with the virile Polish Duke Boleslaus III? A historical story spiced with the depiction of human fates.
