Mona

Following the international success of The Lake, Bianca Bellová releases a new novel

She is a nurse, he is still practically a child. They meet on the ruins of their lives, on the ruins of the old world, on the ruins of a hospital, into which a new world is penetrating like the ever-present tendrils of a weedy vine. It probably won't be better. But what if it is? Or… what if it's possible to disappear? To escape the gunfire that relentlessly showers the scorched earth around, to escape all those rules about how a woman and a man should behave, to escape the memories, to escape oneself…

Just as in her renowned novel The Lake (Magnesia Litera – Book of the Year and the European Union Prize for Literature), in Mona Bianca Bellová masterfully portrays the oppressive and urgent atmosphere of the moment when a person has to make a decision.
