On thin ice

He lost his memory because of them. Now they're going to lose their lives.

When former military investigator Jack Reacher wakes up tied in a dark room, he has no idea where he is or how he got there. All he can remember is being in a car that someone forced off the road – and that means someone is about to have a very bad day.

Breaking free and overpowering his captor isn't a problem for Reacher. But then things get complicated. The kidnappers' boss, Ivan Vidic, claims he saved the soldier's life and that the driver of the crashed car was an FBI agent named Gibson. Gibson was supposedly infiltrating Vidic's group of counterfeiters. But can Reacher trust a criminal's word that it wasn't Vidic himself who killed Gibson?

To uncover the murderer and find out where Gibson was actually taking him, Reacher must retrace his steps – all the way back to Lake of the Ozarks, where the whole affair began. In doing so, he gets entangled in a conspiracy that could cost him his life. For real this time…

A new thriller with the iconic hero Jack Reacher, whose cases inspired the hit TV series starring Alan Ritchson.

Lee Child

Lee Child

James Dover Grant, better known by his pen name Lee Child, is a British author, screenwriter and editor. He was born in Coventry in 1954, attended the same secondary school as J.R.R. Tolkien, and then studied law in Sheffield, where he also worked part-time in the theatre. As he had no intention of pursuing law professionally, he found a job in television after graduating, where he contributed to many popular series. When he was made redundant in 1995, he decided to use his free time to write a book. In his thriller *Killing Floor*, he introduced a new icon to the genre – military policeman Jack Reacher. He followed up on its success with thirty more novels, which inspired two feature films and a hit series. Since 2021, he has been writing the series with his brother, Andrew.

Andrew Child
British author Andrew Child, born Andrew Grant in Birmingham in 1968. He studied English literature and drama but has held a variety of jobs – including some that required security clearance. Like his older brother Lee Child, he started writing books after being laid off from a job. His spy novels *Run* and *Die Twice* have been published in Czech translation. In 2021, Lee invited him to co-write the bestselling thrillers about former military policeman Jack Reacher, and they have been working on the series in tandem ever since. Andrew lives in a national park near Laramie, Wyoming, with his wife, Tasha Alexander, the author of popular historical detective stories.
