Ota Dub: Clockmaker

After the liberation, Ota Dub worked first as the head of the internal medicine department of the Liberec hospital, and from 1953 as a regional internist there; in 1955-1978 he served in the same capacity in Ústí nad Labem. It was not until the 1970s that he became more prominent, when he published a series of novels and short stories in which the medical environment was a central theme - whether it was the work of a doctor in the "field" during the settlement of the borderlands or in research institutes and clinics, where the professional ethics of the individual come into conflict with careerism and corruption. The story of a young doctor and a strange patient from the series Tales from a Doctor's Bag was dramatised and adapted for radio: Šárka Kosková.
