Pavel Kosatík has captured all stages of Tigrid's life in his book. From his childhood and youth through his first (London) exile during the Second World War, the short post-war period of his return to Czechoslovakia and his second exile in 1948. He describes in detail this long and, for Tigrid, very dramatic period. It also deals with the post-Soviet return, when Pavel Tigrid worked as an associate of President Václav Havel and in the 1990s held the post of Minister of Culture. Jiří Hanák, who read the fate of Pavel Tigrid, himself went into exile in London in 1983. He worked there with the BBC until 1998.
