Communication is the tool of relationship and we are the tool of relationship – this is the motto that for many years has accompanied the popular courses that the author organizes for his colleagues – doctors, but also other health professionals. It creates a platform for interactive sketches, which the author guides the doctor through. It's not always an easy road – The book also opens Pandora's box of emotions, fears and anxieties.

The monograph is devoted to good clinical practice in mutual communication between the physician, resp. the health professional, the patient and their loved ones. It focuses on various specific settings where the palliative care physician encounters – to a clinic, to a district hospital, to a hospice or a home for the elderly. The reader will learn about bad news communication in different medical fields, sharing, personal attitudes and defenses in communication, and how to work with emotions. There are also chapters on neonatology and care of terminally ill children, accompaniment and bereavement care.
The book is written in the form of stories and case histories with comments, explanations and guidance from a doctor and a clinical psychologist.
