The man who sought his shadow

The Man Who Sought His Shadow is the fifth installment in one of the most successful thriller series, Millennium

Lisbeth Salander is serving a short sentence in Flodberg Women's Prison and is trying to avoid conflict with her fellow inmates. But when he stands up for a young Bangladeshi woman from a neighbouring cell, she is immediately attacked by Benito, the unwritten leader of the prison. Lisbeth is visited by Holger Palmgren, who informs her that he has received documents that shed new light on the injustices perpetrated against her in her childhood.

Lisbeth then asks Mikael Blomkvist to help her with the search. The trail leads them to one Leo Mannheimmer, a partner in the brokerage firm Alfred Ogren. How is the past of a rich young man from financial circles intertwined with Lisbeth Salander's past? And can Lisbeth stand up to the escalating threats of Benita and her gang?

David Lagercrantz weaves a gripping tale of abuse of power, questions of honour and the shadows of Lisbeth's childhood that still haunt her.

Author about the book

I was obsessed with these characters. One of them is a middle-aged journalist, so I can relate. The other character is very distant to me, but her mystery fascinates me. As a journalist, I understood the importance of my work and what it could affect. But I didn't feel tied down as a writer. And that was the key to success. I put my heart and soul into writing this novel.
