The Munich Wolf
How do you catch a killer you're not supposed to find?
Munich, 1935
The city of beer, lakes, and cultural splendour is also the spiritual home of Nazism and a place where the truth has become dangerous. While young British aristocrats enjoy a carefree life here, fear and violence lurk in the streets, and many turn a blind eye… When a young English aristocrat is murdered, Detective Sebastian Wolff is assigned to the case. The experienced investigator has long since learned to walk a tightrope: fulfilling his duties without antagonising the political regime he despises. This time, however, the situation is far more perilous – Adolf Hitler himself has taken a personal interest in the investigation.
Constantly watched by the secret police and facing threats at home from his own son, a devoted member of the Hitler Youth, Wolff gradually discovers that the killer likely has connections to the highest echelons of Nazi power. Every step could be fatal, and the truth he seeks may be a secret that must never see the light of day.
The audiobook Munich Wolf is a chilling historical thriller about moral courage, personal loyalty, and the price of truth in a time when ideology bends justice. An atmospheric, suspenseful story from a dark period of history, where trying to catch a killer might be the most dangerous act of all.
Rory Clements
Rory Clements was born in Dover, Kent. As his father served in the Royal Navy, he spent his childhood in various places around the world. He worked for many years as a journalist for national newspapers, but his real dream was to write novels. His father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all survived the brutal fighting of three major wars, but he doubts he would have fared as well in similar situations. Perhaps that is why he is so drawn to writing stories about people who possess the courage he himself admires. He has twice won the Historical Dagger award, presented by the Crime Writers' Association. Clements lives in Norfolk, England, and is married to the artist Naomi Clements-Wright.
