The prophetess and the fool
The end of the world is nigh – time for one last road trip! From the author of the bestseller The Hundred-Year-Old Man.
Swedish amateur astrophysicist Petra has calculated that the world will end at 21:20 on 7th September 2011. This prophecy brings her together with the rather simple Johan, who can turn an ordinary meal into a gourmet experience, and Agnes, a pensioner who earns money as a young influencer under a fake profile. Together, they set off in a campervan to Rome, where they intend to make the most of their remaining time. But as is often the case, nothing goes to plan. Not even the end of the world.
This is Jonas Jonasson's sixth novel, taking readers on a road trip around the world, from Sweden through Africa to America. It's the author's typically witty, humanly-aware slice-of-life story about what happens when three peculiar, yet morally very strong, individuals meet and find a way to intertwine their plans.
And all of this in the typical, beloved Jonasson style that readers find so entertaining.
