Tomáš Holý - The Boy Who Never Got Old
Tomáš Holý entered our hearts and became a legend of child acting. The fact that merciless fate granted him such a short time plays no part in this - unlike other "legends". We wouldn't forget his inimitable portrayal of the little heroes, even if he were living happily and contentedly among us today (and probably outside the ramp lights he never really wanted). His first ever biography introduces us to his beginnings as an actor, He goes into more detail about the legendary How to Rip a Stool from a Whale, How to get daddy into reform school or the "Šumava trilogy", stops at films unjustly neglected (Holidays for the Dog, A vampire in a tower block, Encounters in July or Escapes Home), those, in which he played only supporting roles (Marecek, Give me the pen! The death of hitchhikers, Long live the ghosts, Secrets of the Steel City) and such, which have rightly fallen into oblivion (Anna the Proletarian, A man with an eagle and a hen, Out of Position) - but even these he managed to make shine through with his immediacy and acting skills. We will read about his views on acting and his professional and private life, we will learn how he spent his free time, how he imagined his life and career direction... and unfortunately how he left this world soon after. The book also includes testimonials from film industry personalities and friends, as well as an overview of all the films in which he appeared during his short, but all the more remarkable, career. We believe that this book will find its way into the hearts of everyone where the unforgettable Tomáš Holý has lived for years.
