Model Designation

The model designation is the specific name of the model given by the manufacturer.

The model designation provides specific details about the processor. For example, fourth-generation Haswell processors start with the number four, fifth-generation Broadwell processor start with the number five, and so on. Models labelled "HQ" (High Performance Graphics) offer high performance graphics, and models labelled "U" (Ultra-low power) can be found in ultrabooks with low power consumption. Some models support virtualisation and Turbo Boost function, which increases the processor frequency if needed.
