Experience the unique taste of AlzaCafé Nicaragua's El Poste coffee, sourced from Nicaraguan plantations in the Dipilto Mountains. This 100% Arabica of the Caturra variety, processed using the washed method, has a clean and elegant expression with notes of dark fruit and cocoa and a slightly creamy texture. It is best suited for espresso, but it is also perfect for milk drinks such as cappuccino or latte. The coffee is roasted in small batches to medium grade directly in the Czech Republic, so it always arrives fresh and in ideal condition.

Finca El Poste - a farm with soul and tradition

The Finca El Poste farm, run by the family of Guillermo Montenegro, is located in the Cordillera de Dipilto in the north of Nicaragua, where you can see all the way to neighbouring Honduras. The farm has been through challenging times - from hurricanes to financial crises to the coffee rust epidemic, yet has always managed to return to growing with an emphasis on quality and long-term sustainability. On 20 hectares they grow Caturra, Pacamara, Maragogype, Maracaturra and Bourbon varieties, supplemented by vegetables and shade trees. Due to the cooler locations, abundant shade and the protection of the springs, coffee cherries ripen more slowly and acquire a distinct sweetness.

Washed method and slow maturation for perfect taste

After selective harvesting, the harvested cherries are peeled and fermented for 24-40 hours, then washed in channels and transported to Caravela's central drying station La Estrella in Ocotal. There, slow, controlled drying takes place on shaded beds for 12-15 days. Thanks to this process and rigorous quality control, the coffee retains its exceptional purity of flavour and ages much more slowly.

AlzaCafé Nicaragua El Poste is ideal for brewing in a lever or automatic espresso machine, where its creamy body and clean notes of dark fruit and cocoa stand out best. Thanks to the medium roasting, you can enjoy it not only as a pure espresso, but also in combination with milk - for example in the form of a cappuccino, caffé latte or flat white. If you prefer traditional brewing, it also fits perfectly in a moka pot, where it will offer a thicker and more intense profile. Thanks to its versatile character, this selection is a great choice for your daily ritual.

In order for coffee beans to retain their unique taste and aroma, it is important to store them properly. That's why we pack our coffees in opaque, triple-layered bags that protect the contents from air, moisture and light. It includes a handy zipper closure so you don't have to pour the coffee anywhere - simply reseal the bag after opening. The one-way valve allows the natural gases produced after roasting to escape, but at the same time does not let air in. As a result, AlzaCafé coffee stays fresh and full of flavour for many weeks or months. For maximum quality, we recommend storing it dry and at a constant temperature, out of the fridge and freezer.
