Annie by the sea

This story for young readers follows on from the two previous popular books, Anička and Her Friends, and Anička in the City. This time, Anička flies off with her parents for a short holiday to Hurghada in Egypt. She takes her diary with her again, full of anticipation for all the things she will experience in this unfamiliar, exotic country. Most of all, she is looking forward to diving in the coral sea and hopes to make a new friend. At first, she isn't thrilled, but luckily everything soon changes. Anička finds a Czech friend, and when she gets lost in the marketplace, she also befriends a local girl. Anička also discovers the wonders of Egypt: on a trip with her parents, she rides a camel, sees the pyramids, the mythical River Nile, and the sacred tombs of the Egyptian pharaohs with a mummy on display. The most amazing experience awaits her when she goes diving in the coral sea.

Then come dreams and wishes of connecting the sea and human worlds. And even a real jellyfish, which Anička saves. Finally, it's time to say goodbye. Anička returns home full of impressions and memories. And although she is looking forward to seeing her classmates in Prague, she knows very well that she will never forget her holiday in Egypt.
