Daytime running lights

Daytime running lights can save you a considerable amount of money, since during the day, they can entirely replace the main car light bulbs or lamps. All the running lights in our product selection are homologated for use in the EU, so you can use them throughout the European Union in accordance with applicable regulations (they are visibly marked with E and RL symbols).

Basic daytime running light parameters

  • Lifespan - high-quality daytime running lights can last for up to 5,000 hours.
  • Shape - rectangular lights fit into bumper grids under the lights, while round lights can be mounted in the space normally reserved for fog lights.
  • Power supply - 12V for passenger cars, 24V in some vans and lorries.
  • Colour temperature - colour temperature (chromaticity) characterises the colour of the emitted light. It is expressed in kelvins (K). Depending on the value, we perceive light as "warm white" (about 3000K) to "cool white" (6000K).

Legislative restrictions and mandatory rules

Two LED daytime running lights must be mounted at the front of the car, horizontally and at the height of 250 to 1500 mm. The minimum distance between them must be 600 mm (for vehicles under 1.3 m in width it’s 400 mm). The lights must also be no further than 400 mm away from the edge of the car. The lights must turn on automatically when the vehicle starts and turn off when you turn off the ignition. The mounting process itself is not subject to any approval, but you are obligated to use homologated lights.
