Intel Core i9-7900X
Intel is a world-renowned company which doesn't need a lengthy introduction. For many years, they have been one of the largest manufacturers of processors and chipsets in the world. Right now, it has released the best desktop processors, whose performance is once again exceptionally ahead of the rest. Basically, these processors are server-based versions designed for gaming. The Intel Core i9-7900X processor is designed for motherboards equipped with the LGA 2066 socket and the upgraded Intel X299 chipset.
Key features of the Intel Core i9-7900X processor
- Extreme performance brought to perfection
- Open multiplier for clocking
- 10 cores with a high frequency of up to 3.3GHz
- New Turbo Boost Max 3.0 with overclocking for the individual cores
- Supports DDR4 memory with a frequency of up to 2666MHz
- Advanced 14nm manufacturing process
- Designed for the LGA 2066 socket and Intel X299 chipset
Cutting-edge technology
The processor offers 10 cores and is part of the new, modern X series. It has been made using a 14nm manufacturing process with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Each core runs at a basic frequency of 3.3GHz with the option of Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 4.3GHz. Just like with the previous generation, the memory controller is integrated directly into the chip. It is a four-channel DDR4 memory controller which can now operate at a frequency of up to 2666MHz. Furthermore, the processor has a cache of 13.75MB.
Turbo Boost Max 3.0
Because its focus is primarily on desktop processors, Intel has developed an advanced technology that can help you get the most out of every processor. Turbo Boost Max 3.0 is able to test each core individually and select the most suitable. At the upper power limit, the difference may be as high as 15% and it would be a shame not to make the most of this. The selected core will then run at the maximum frequency at all times, and the system will use it preferentially.
