The Shadow is stirring, and the united human clans are intensively preparing for war with the Arachryst. The druids continue their dangerous experiments, awakening demons in the bodies of human warriors and paying a high price for their partial successes. The fallen Jorrei knight Kreon knows they are playing with fire, but it seems King Giastral of the Veledhari has lost the last of his self-preservation instincts.
However, an even greater threat is coming from the darkness. The Sarrei are going on the hunt, targeting elite Jorrei knights just before their confirmation. Sittedral declares a mission with a completely twisted objective—no sane person would voluntarily accept it!
But that's what the wildlings are for, led by their mad queen.
Isarell and Bastien are once again plunged into Ymira's complex intrigues. Can they escape, or will they drown this time?
The very first book in the Zlatá grai series shows that it's possible to create an epic fantasy saga in the Czech scene comparable to those from abroad. A skilfully built world, interesting characters, and a fast-paced plot full of combat, tough training, and magic.
- Pevnost
Kristina M. Waagnerová's Zlatá grai series is a phenomenon that, in its pacing, craftsmanship, and imaginative construction, rivals novels by far more experienced stars of the genre. It is a fantasy characterised by a well-thought-out and ruthless world, as well as a multitude of vivid and unpredictable characters. And in Dotek viatáru, the author shows that she has by no means played all her trump cards yet.
- Jiří Štěpán, editor
Dotek viatáru builds on the foundations of its predecessor, picking up the pace and making the main plot even more interesting. Both central characters, as well as many of the supporting ones, become more defined. In short, Waagnerová proves that she can write dynamic fantasy and sell many original elements.
- Fantasy Planet
Whoever picks up this book joins the wildlings. In a world of intrigue, battles, and blood.
- Tereza Kadečková, author of the novel In the Branches of Yggdrasil
is from Prague. After grammar school, she studied medicine at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. She chose gynaecology and obstetrics as her specialisation, became certified in this field, and works as a doctor in a Prague perinatology centre. In addition, she teaches obstetrics at the University of Health in Prague and collaborates on writing scripts for TV series with medical themes. Her fantasy tetralogy, Zlatá grai, was seventeen years in the making and was initially published only as an e-book, yet it received considerable acclaim. Following the eponymous introductory volume and its sequel, Dotek viatáru, the next instalments, Otisky Chribdy and the long-awaited final volume, Polibek Maintré, will be released in the coming years.
