Community of mourners
When yesterday is the key to a better today and a perfect tomorrow...
Bounty hunter Colter Shaw travels to Washington State on the trail of two young men who allegedly vandalised a Baptist sanctuary in Gig Harbor and shot the preacher and church minister. The experienced tracker quickly disposes of the sneaky competitor and the hot-blooded law enforcement officers and intends to take the found pair of youngsters safely to their loved ones. Suddenly, one of the refugees commits suicide in front of his eyes. The remorseful Shaw decides to investigate the sectarian community to whose mountain headquarters the persecuted couple were headed. Under a false identity, he infiltrates the camp of the Osiris Foundation, which, through its founder Master Eli, promises the mourners a major life change - for a hefty fee, of course. In a heavily guarded compound filled with fanatical followers of a mysterious guru, can he reveal the true nature of the community while concealing his true identity? The organization's slogan "the best is yet to come" soon takes on a threatening undertone...
The second in a series of crime thrillers featuring the cold-blooded investigator Colter Shaw, protagonist of the Hitchhiker series. However, the opponent of unnecessary risk, which he always manages to calculate well, must this time run with the wolves to save the sheep of the self-proclaimed saviour.
