It's back to medieval punishment. Only the executioner is today's... The fourth part of the Icelandic sextalogy with detective Huldar and psychologist Freyja.

On the Gallows Rock, which has served as a tourist attraction on the outskirts of Reykjavik for hundreds of years, the hanged man appeared at a completely inopportune time. The team of investigators, led by the vigorous Erla, must therefore violate the principles of forensic work from the start in order to hide the body from the eyes of the Chinese foreign minister, whose official visit will soon begin with an audience at the nearby presidential palace. The fact that it is not a suicide is clearly confirmed by the nail driven into the chest of the corpse...

Freyja and her colleague Didrik go to Helgi Fridriksson's posh apartment because someone has informed the social welfare department that there is a child in danger there. They are indeed let in by a four-year-old boy who does not live there and who, as it soon turns out, will not be easy to identify. At the door of the apartment, the psychologist meets Huldar, who has come to search the victim's home. Could the pair have been seduced by chance again?
